It is Taurus season and I truly have no interest in effort or analysis at the moment. I just want to exist and truly indulge in some of my favorite things, like waking up to see the sunrise and hear the Northern Cardinal’s song, or enjoying a glass of Blanc de Blancs in a cashmere set with music likely only heard at a Japanese listening bar playing in the background. That said, this may be my most undemanding post yet. It is my birthday week and I have little attention span for anything other than the above, not to mention I am woefully late for a dinner. This will have to do, friends…
Acquisitions.
Here we acquire perspective, not just things and I now believe all concerts should take place in a valley of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc with the artist floating atop a hazy lake. If you have not heard Khan Meslien, allow me the distinct privilege of introducing you by way of this incredible performance from last year’s Cosmo Jazz Festival. [Mental Note: Attend Cosmo Jazz 2025]
Watch.
The Circle (Netflix)
Netflix’s reality game show is back for a sixth season and once again I find myself charmed by a new cast of players vying for status, virtually — and $100,000. Despite the premise, this is truly one of the most earnest and endearing shows on television.

Fashion Goes Big at Salone, But Design Still Rules (Instagram)
Last week, Milan hosted Salone del Mobile 2024, “the global benchmark event for the furnishing and design sector” and Business of Fashion’s Editor-in-Chief Imran Amed had thoughts, namely the industry is “ripe for consolidation.” Suffice it today, people were not amused and their comments made for a gratifying read. My favorite: “Interesting point, hopefully never turning into a reality.” The guffaw I guffewed.
The Best Installations and Events at Salone del Mobile 2024 (W)
A primer of sorts, but having just watched the mini-doc on Sabato De Sarno, it is wonderful to see his anchora featured in such a stunning way. I am quickly becoming quite the fan.
What’s Been Missing From My Apartment? A Loewe-Commissioned Lamp. (The Cut)
Same, Cortne. This is the take we need out of Salone.
Four Women on Why They Love Wearing Issey Miyake’s Easygoing Designs (AnOther)
I hope we all have a particular designer that makes us feel the way these women do in their clothes. This was such an intelligent and inspiring read.
A Final Farewell to Ryuichi Sakamoto (Vulture)
This is a movie review, but it is not. It is a reflection on life, creativity, and the ability to see into the future and provide people with what they will need long after you are gone.

sacai.
First, let me say this clearly for the record: Chitose Abe of sacai is what people want Phoebe Philo to be.
I saw this Instagram post earlier this week and have probably thought about it daily since. Nadine looks chic as hell and I desperately want a peek at her entire wardrobe — both the U.S. and Japan closets! While your eye may have gone to the Hermès Birkin or scarf, mine went to the sacai bomber. It may seem pretty basic here, but I assure you it is a statement.
Sacai is just a perfect brand, particularly for the 40+ set. Let’s pretend we have places to go and bills to burn on deconstructed and exaggerated classics, shall we?
Trinity for Chitose Abe of Sacai Ring
Mark my words: one day I will own this piece.
Quilted Blouson Sleeve Satin Jacket & Shorts
This fit, but with the Wingtip Engineer Sock Boots?! Give it to me. I know what to do with this.
Double Face Silk & Cotton Button Up Shirt & Shorts
Another incredible set. Would look stunning with a bag in a bright, unexpected color.
Nylon Twill & Cotton Blend Gabardine Trench Bomber Jacket
LAWD HAVE MERCY!
Nike x sacai x Jean Paul Gaultier VaporWaffle Sneakers
Stay with me now — ugly? Yes. But I know imagine with an all navy look and just that pop at the bottom with a bag in that mustard? If you cannot see it, I understand. This requires vision…
Okay, I’ve gotta scoot! Talk to you in chat or the comments!
Happy birthday! Love your thoughts and commentary, no surprise there, but especially agree with your opinion on Sacai and the ugly sneakers… and taking time for yourself to do whatever you want and nothing more, nothing less. Enjoy 😉
Happy birthday! That ladiesofmadisonave post inspired my first Sacai purchase ❤️
